regards as its principal aim the publication of unknown works of the great composer that previously could not be published and were not performed due to ideological reasons. Also preparation of new publications of his widely popular works based on authentic manuscripts of the composer. These publications are accompanied by scientific textological commentaries in Russian and in English.
Among the most important works already published, - the piano score of three main Shostakovich's ballets, written at the end of the 1920's to the beginning of the 1930's 'The Age of Gold', 'The Bolt' and 'Limpid Stream', also a satirical lampoon directed against Stalin, Zhdanov and Khrushchev, 'Anti-Formalistic Rayok' and a one-act children's opera, 'The Story of a Silly Baby Mouse'.
Among the very latest publications - Shostakovich sonatas including his Sonata for Cello and Piano published for the first time with fingering and othe details by Mstislav Rostropovitch, the Sonata for Violin and Piano with the violin part arranged by David Oistrak and the Sonata for Viola and Piano with the viola part arranged by Fyodor Druzhinin.
Forthcoming plans of the Publishing House included a re-print of the piano score of the opera 'Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District' published in 1935 with texts in Russian and English in its first edition, for long a bibliographical rarity.
The Publishing House started preparation for publishing 'New Complete Works' wich will contain widely know, as well as more than a hundred lesser know, or unpublished works by the composer, in 100 volumes.
