´ Titulaire dun diplôme du Conservatoire de Moscou, Alexandre Rabinovitch a quitté lURSS en 1974 et vit maintenant en Suisse. Il se produit fréquemment dans divers pays, surtout avec le répertoire romantique pour piano. La pensée créative de Rabinovitch est tournée vers la culture des siècles passés, quil perçoit comme un tout depuis les théories ésotériques antiques jusquà lart du 19ème siècle, quil affectionne tout particulièrement. Il a présenté ses uvres dans de nombreux festivals la Biennale de Venise (1977, 1979), 'Steirischer Herbst' en Autriche (1977), le festival Witten (1975), le festival Almeida à Londre (1989), 'Alternativa' à Moscou (1989), 'Musiktriennale' à Cologne (1994), à Salzbourg, Zurich, Munich, Paris, et Tokyo.
En 1996 il a commencé une nouvelle activité en tant que chef dorchestre. Il a dirigé diverses uvres au Japon, au Danemark, en Italie, en Autriche, en Suisse et en Pologne (avec 'Sinfonia Varsovia').

En duo avec Martha Argerich, il a enregistré des oeuvres de Rachmaninov, Brahms, Mozart, Dukas, R. Strauss et Ravel pour Teldec Classics, et des oeuvres de Messiaen et de Schumann pour EMI.
Comme soliste, il a enregistré les "Variations Dibabelli" de Beethoven, ainsi que "Kreisleriana" et "Carnaval de Vienne" de Schumann pour Teldec Classics.
Les maisons d'édition de ses oeuvres sont "Beliaeff-Verlag" (Francfort) et "Ariadne Verlag" (Vienne).

He conducted the Padova Chamber Orchestra in a recording of 2 concertos by Mozart (K. 459 in F-major and K. 466 in D-minor, with Martha Argerich as a solist) for TELDEC CLASSICS.
